Technology Networks (a LabX Media Group Company) is looking for a Junior Science News Editor to help increase news coverage and engagement with our growing readership. Based in the UK, the Junior Science News Editor will source relevant news releases, develop relationships with key contacts and help the editorial team cover breaking science news.
The successful candidate will have a real passion for science with strong verbal and written communication skills. They will be self-motivated and able to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while working as part of a team as well as independently with minimum supervision. They must have a keen interest in scientific web communication and be able to create successful relationships with key organizations around the world. A desire to learn about the latest scientific breakthroughs and techniques is critical to the role.

Responsibilities:
- Work with the in-house news team to source science news releases
- Post news on Technology Networks website using the in-house content management system
- Establish relationships with academic institutions, vendor companies and PR agencies
- Create and maintain a database of press contacts
Experience:
- This is an entry-level role that would be ideal for a recent graduate looking to take their first steps in science media.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, biology or related science
Technical Skills:
- Scientific background
- Demonstrable editing skills
- Understanding of content sourcing
- Social media savvy (a benefit)
