The Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic leather worker with benchwork experience, with at least 2 - 3 years’ experience, to join our rapidly expanding, friendly team. You’ll be working on making a wide range of high-quality leather products from fashion hand bags to wallets to back packs. We need a bench worker who has experience with making wallets and bags at the luxury end and needs to have a good eye for detail. Sewing machine experience will be preferred.
Responsibilities
- Hand cutting and machine cutting leather components.
- Machine sewing leather using flatbed and cylinder arm sewing machines.
- Using traditional leather work hand tools
- Using a skiving machine. Cutting machine and splitting machine
- Working with edge paints
Must-haves
- A keen eye for detail
- An organised, practical approach to completing set tasks.
- Be enthusiastic and self-motivated.
- Competent and accurate use of all leather working machines.
- The ability to work under pressure.
- The ability to work individually or as part of a team.
- The ability to follow detailed instructions correctly and consistently.
- The ability to read and understand basic English.
