Management Accountant, 12 month FTC (up to £40,000)

About the role
We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our finance team based in London, W6. This is an ideal opportunity for an ACCA or CIMA part-qualified accountant looking for a development opportunity within a fast paced, award winning organisation. The Management Accountant will report to the Finance Manager and be responsible for producing the management accounts for the Youth & Children’s division within our Experience division.
As a Management Accountant, you will;
- Produce timely, accurate and high-quality monthly reports and management accounts.
- Review and complete commentary and variance analysis; ensure appropriate challenge/supporting analyses to ensure full understanding of divisional performance.
- Planning and preparing the annual budget and forecast for the Y&C portfolio.
- Co-ordinate and maintain monthly finance meetings with key stakeholders from portfolio and ensure clear communication of group process and timelines.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to improve balance sheet management review process, making recommendations for improvement and implement as appropriate.
- Undertake detailed ad-hoc analysis including KPI (identify financial and non-financial).
- Ad-hoc work as required by Senior Finance Management team.
Requirements
- Part-qualified chartered accountant
- Previous experience gained in a similar role/commercial environment.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting concepts, systems and processes.
- Experience of working to timetables and strict procedures
- Demonstrable attention to detail and ability to apply a methodology for ensuring high level of accuracy.
- Experience and understanding of financial systems/software, with good Excel skills.
- Commitment to developing and implementing continual process improvements in a complex reporting structure is a requirement for the role, as is the ability to respond flexibly to changing operational needs.
- A “finisher” with the genuine drive, enthusiasm and commitment to improve the effectiveness of management reporting processes.
- Ability to use initiative, anticipate issues and develop common sense, practical solutions to deliver high quality output to tight deadlines.
- Confident team player with strong influencing, facilitation and communication skills.
- A good communicator, both oral and written, who is an approachable team player.
- Media industry background would be beneficial, but not essential.
