Position: Assistant Greenkeeper
Location: Longcliffe Golf CLub – Leicestershire - Midlands
Salary: Between £23,000 pa - £27,000 pa depending upon experience and qualifications.
Longcliffe Golf Club is considered the finest golf club in Leicestershire and is the host of many county and Midland competitions. With its favoured location on the lower slopes of the historic and scenic Charnwood Forest, its offers 18 holes of beautiful but challenging golf.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Greenkeeper to join our existing Team of Green-keepers.
On a day to day basis you will contribute to the maintenance and development of the golf course, its practice facilities and the surrounding area in accordance with the golf clubs course policy document and health and safety policy.
This is a full-time contract based on an average of 40 hours per week on a rota which includes weekends.
The successful applicant should ideally have:
- A minimum of 2 years’ green keeping experience.
- NVQ 2 or equivalent in sports turf maintenance.
- Able to mow all playing surfaces to a high and presentable standard.
- Scarifying, verticutting, aerating turf, applying top dressing and repairing divots experience.
- Spraying and chainsaw licences are desirable.
- Preparing & maintaining machinery for use & storage are desirable
- Ability to set up the golf course in accordance with the rules of golf i.e. changing holes and moving tee markers is desirable.
- An understanding and mindset towards health and safety.
- Good time management.
- An ability to work well in a team and also the ability to use your own initiative when needed.
- Knowledge of golf and interest in playing the game.
- A full driving licence.

Accommodation is not available but the course is located close to Loughborough, Nottingham and Leicester.
