We are looking for an enthusiastic Product Validation Placement Student to join our team specializing in systems engineering and testing, for our New Power Business Unit Team in Milton Keynes. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organisation operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Involved in all aspects of the systems engineering of high voltage battery packs for large vehicle applications. The role includes requirements capture, validation test planning, performing tests, test reporting, data analysis and failure analysis.
- Plan and execute battery testing including identifying and specifying required equipment and coordinating and executing the test plan.
- Troubleshooting any issues that occur within the testing process, documenting and writing reports based upon the findings following a test.
- Using programming logic to program specific tests and procedures, creating and documenting best internal practice for different internal procedures
- Analysing data following the conclusion of testing and draw conclusions
- Interacting with the larger engineering team as well as working with external test houses the student will also be involved in running performance, mechanical and abuse testing of the batteries both internally and externally.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- An interest in product development of complex systems and decarbonisation.
- We are looking for a wide range of candidates working towards a degree in a STEM related area, degrees in areas such as Mechanical, Automotive or Electrical Engineering would also be beneficial
- The ideal candidate would have great teamworking and communication skills with a willingness to learn new skills and a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Previous programming experience using any software packages would be beneficial but not essential
