Job Description

Job Title: Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.

Location: Westhoughton, Bolton

Salary: Starting on £5.28 (NMW) increasing after 3 Months Qualified Status.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday – Friday.

Contract: Term-Time, plus 5 days.

Who we are looking for:

Aspire Behaviour Management is currently on the lookout for motivated individuals who are passionate about providing effective care and support to our Children and Young People within our Independent Nurture Setting.

Our Children and Young People have a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH), and although this can be challenging, it can also be rewarding as you will be making a difference to their lives daily.

Therefore, our ideal candidate will have the following skills & knowledge:

· Grade 4 or above in English & Maths (or equivalent)

· A passion for going above and beyond for Children & Young People and the individual needs they have.

· Effective communication skills.

· Ability to understand not every day is a challenge.

· Be excited about each day bringing something new to the table.

· Calm, understanding and empathetic.

· Engage with our children by modelling positive relationships, and have the ability to think of new games, activities and ways of maintaining engagement from our Children.

· Willingness to not only learn about our Children and Young People, but undertake our apprenticeship scheme, completing a funded Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning Diploma, whilst working for us.

The Role:

Our aim is to provide Children and Young People attending our Educational Facilities, with a calm and nurturing environment to allow them to be supported to reach their full potential.

We also need to provide the guidance and support necessary to allow these children and young people to make the move back into mainstream education.

Therefore, day to day duties will involve:

· Using effective behaviour management strategies.

· Developing positive relationships to assist with progress and attainment.

· Assisting with delivery, monitoring and the review of individuals targets.

· Assisting with pupils in the classroom settings.

· Act as Keyworker for several pupils.

· Assisting the Teacher / Room Lead to set up the classroom and/or activities as needed.

· Liaising with parents/carers, mainstream schools, and other professionals associated with the children.

· Classroom administrative tasks, including maintenance of records.

· Ensuring the classroom, and school environment are safe, clean and kept to a high standard at all times.
