We have a Weekend Library Network Assistant position available at Guildford Library, working 3 hours every Saturday. The working hours for this post are 1pm-4pm.
Surrey is one of the largest county councils in the UK and has over 50 libraries across the county. Our library teams deliver a range of services to all members of the public. Times have changed from when all that libraries offered was to lend books and access to a reference collection. Now, in addition to lending books and providing a range of online reference resources, we also hold computer classes, Rhymetimes and Storytimes, and various other events such as Minecraft sessions and Code Clubs. We are able to offer a range of services including library services for the elderly or disabled.

Your daily duties will include but not be limited to:
- Assist with enquiries as required
- Take part in Rhymetime and Storytime
- Support library events as required e.g. craft session
- Ensure borrower records are kept up to date
- Occasionally working at other branches within the local area
We are looking for the following key skills from potential applicants:
- Knowledge of using Microsoft Office packages
- Ability to use initiative and work under pressure with accuracy
- A basic understanding of working in a library
- Positive working attitude towards training and development.
