Medway Norse is a successful and growing joint venture partnership between commercial services specialists Norse Group, and Medway Council.
We deliver several frontline services to local residents, including waste management, building maintenance and facilities management.
As a result of continued growth within the partnership, we are looking to recruit an Assistant Operations Director into our senior management team in Medway on a permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.
Main Responsibilities will include:
- Leading contracted and commercial work for the division, including ensuring contracts are delivered in line with targets and within set timeframes
- Delivering in line with objectivities, carrying out service reviews to maximise operational efficiency and profitability
- Building strong, professional relationships with clients and internal/external stakeholders including networking
- Leading, managing and coaching line managers to ensure all employees are operating within Norse Group policies and procedures
- Working closely with the Operations Director identifying, preparing and submitting business cases for contracts and business opportunities
- Preparing budgets, forecasts and financial plans in conjunction with the Operations Director and Finance Business Partner
- Overseeing the compliance of internal management systems to ensure certification and ongoing compliance with ISO health and safety, environmental, and quality management systems, supported by the Group SHEQ Team
Ideal Skills & Experience include:
You will need to be able to demonstrate a combination of knowledge, training and commercial experience, highlighted by;
- Degree educated (business or similar), and / or equivalent professional management qualifications and training
- Knowledge of local government system and property services
- Extensive management experience at a senior level with financial responsibility and business planning
- Significant experience of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics with knowledge of data analysis
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to persuade, influence and negotiate
- Full UK Driving Licence to meet the travel requirements of the role
