Job Description

The Role

The Content Writer will be producing accurate, engaging and informative content for the company’s multiple price comparison websites, as well as content for partner sites as and when required.While financial services experience isn’t mandatory, the successful applicant should be comfortable getting to grips with a wide range of financial jargon and be able to simplify this jargon in a consumer-focused, SEO-friendly and FCA-compliant way.

In this role you will:

  • Write high-quality content for website landing pages, insurance and personal finance guides, press releases and email newsletters
  • Use keyword analysis tools to both determine what content to create and optimise that content for search
  • Fact-check, proofread and edit content written by other team members and freelance writers
  • Support Seopa’s PR, email marketing and social media experts with content writing, proofreading and editing as and when required
  • Support other Seopa teams with their copywriting and content development requirements when required.

The successful candidate will have:

Academics

Honours Degree or equivalent (minimum 2:1), and 3 grades ‘B’ or above at A-Level are desirable but not essential.

Essential Criteria

  • The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background in content writing and editing, with a particular emphasis on web-based content
  • They should be a fluent English speaker with a deep command of the written word
  • They should have a meticulous attention to detail, both when writing their own content and when fact-checking and editing other people’s writing
  • They should also be IT literate, with experience using tools like Word, Excel, Google Docs and Google Sheets.

Desirable

  • A basic understanding of SEO would be ideal, although additional SEO training will be provided
  • Financial services experience is also highly desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience with content managements systems (e.g. WordPress), although training will be provided.
