We are hiring a Manufacturing Manager to join the Carlisle Leadership team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a strategically vital manufacturing department, delivering a range of operational objectives, strategic projects and culture change. You will report directly to the Carlisle Factory General Manager and directly line manage a large team of Team Managers covering 24 hours/day production activities.

What will this role achieve?
Overall ownership and accountability for ensuring the manufacturing area is a safe, efficient and a quality focused operation which satisfies all pladis standards plus customer expectations and requirements.
Participation in the development and execution of the sites continuous improvement vision and strategy will be a priority, as well as actively facilitating a team development improvement process. You will input to the delivery of medium to long term strategy to enable the factory to control its cost base with variable plant utilisation.
What will be your key deliverables?

Lead departmental safety improvement plan through area ownership, accountability and behavioural change programme
-
Responsible for driving site Health and Safety (H&S) policy to follow company & statutory regulations & guidelines, procuring capital and setting functional objectives and targets

Act as a role model to always ensure the site H&S policy is implemented and followed and to encourage the importance of being mindful to potential hazards and ensuring a behavioural safety culture is developed and sustained on site.

Accountable for delivering departmental quality improvement plans achieving continual improvement of cpmu, housekeeping standards and retailer audit programme

Accountable for mentoring, developing and leading team members to deliver continuously improving operating performance and conformance to plan.

Manage the delivery of Manufacturing Prime, Overhead and Operational budgets

Responsible for developing and delivering area Productivity programme, offsetting inflation and achieving departmental cost reduction in line with Budget targets.

Responsible for ensuring that standard methodology is shared between pladis sites and implemented on own site

Facilitate the creation of a dynamic performance orientated culture with aligned and motivated people, ensuring that recognition and financial rewards are clearly linked to measurable performance at all levels

Build a performance climate where people expect to be held accountable for delivery of their commitments

Facilitate the development of yearly manufacturing plan for the area aligned with both site and pladis UK vision and objectives

Responsible for the motivation of your team, for leading, mentoring and performance management, to ensure skill and proficiency levels are maintained

Ensure that all manufacturing metrics are well defined, understood by all and achieved

Deliver the consistent use of process, systems and procedures to ensure production plans are optimised and eliminate non beneficial activities through compliance with core systems and processes within manufacturing

To set high standards and lead by example to facilitate continuous improvement ( ie 14 Step Kaizen projects) in cost base and critical metrics utilising lean manufacturing techniques

Be a lead player in delivery of culture change workstream initiatives delivering the ‘One pladis’ vision to Carlisle
