Based in the beautiful Ashmolean museum within their small finance team that covers both reporting and transactional processing, you will join this team as a finance assistant, supporting the team to manage all transactional processing.
You will have full exposure to a wide range of day-to-day finance activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense claims and Barclaycard submissions.
You will undertake administrative tasks associated with finance processes and procedures, including data input, preparing emails, organising meetings and activities, maintaining spreadsheets and databases, and producing reports.
You will have proven experience of financial administration and be competent using Microsoft Word, Excel and databases. You will be able to organise your own workload and work to deadlines, generating high volumes of accurate work, with high attention to detail. It will be essential to have good interpersonal skills with the ability to build good working relationships with all levels of staff across the museum, external supporters/suppliers, central finance and other management to perform the role effectively. As you will work as part of a small finance team it will be essential that you are able to work on your own initiative, being proactive in identifying how you may be able to help other team members and be able to identify more effective methods/processes to drive efficient ways of working.
This is a part time, fixed term contract, working 18.25 hours per week for one year. Some flexibility across which working days the hours are worked is open to discussion, including the potential for some days/ hours to be worked remotely, with the possibility of contract extension. We are also open to secondment opportunities.
