Hampshire Scientific Service provide the science behind enforcement and support Hampshire County Council in protecting the safety and health of Hampshire residents.
Based at the laboratory in Southsea, the Technical Services Team are a small administration team that provide professional and efficient administration services to the Scientific Service. We work flexibly and reactively supporting multiple scientific disciplines as well as clients and the laboratory management team.
We are looking for a team member with resilience and integrity, who is enthusiastic, motivated and has a passion to learn new skills.
Sample registration and document control will be a key part of the role, as well as, performing some reception duties such as receiving visitors and deliveries, and managing incoming calls and email enquiries. In addition to the apprenticeship training, on the job training will be provided for all specialist laboratory databases and processes.
Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship
As part of your role, you will be carrying out a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.
Training will be provided once a month at Elizabeth II Court, Winchester or online via Teams. You will have several 1-1 sessions and support from your tutor.
The training will take at least 15 months, or up to 18 pending initial assessments.
At the end of training and end point assessments you will have achieved:
- Level 3 in Business Administration
- Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (if required)
This is a 2-year temporary position with potential for a permanent position with progression to Administration Officer.
