As a result of this commitment, ROCKWOOL UK are looking to recruit an Electrical Apprentice to join our growing Maintenance Team. Please note applicant must be starting their first year of a Electrical Apprenticeship.
The Role:
An Electrical Apprenticeship at ROCKWOOL UK will give you the tools to succeed here within our organisation and allow you to grow as an individual.
This apprenticeship scheme allows you to gain hands on learning opportunities with a variety of machinery on site. This is then enhanced through opportunities to gain national, industry recognised qualifications that will further develop your Electrical knowledge alongside your practical learning.
Over the course of the 4 year Apprenticeship the hands on experience you will gain will be invaluable for your success here at ROCKWOOL UK, and as a result you will be working closely with experienced colleagues that will be able to share their experiences and knowledge with you.
The Maintenance and Engineering department is crucial to the operations at our Pencoed manufacturing facility, and our Apprenticeship scheme will provide you with the skills to perform at a high level within a fast paced, forward thinking company.
The Apprenticeship:
Year 1

Enhanced Engineering Programme at Bridgend College

FE/ HE Academic Engineering Qualification (e.g. Level 3 Diploma) for Electrical Engineering.

NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations.

Digital Literacy
Year 2
-
Study a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering.

Start your NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Engineering Maintenance.

Complete additional training courses relevant to the engineering discipline of your apprenticeship.
Year 3

Continue with your NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Engineering Maintenance.

Undertake a HNC in Engineering.

Complete additional training courses relevant to the engineering discipline of your apprenticeship.
Year 4

Complete your NVQ Level 3 Qualification in Engineering Maintenance.

Complete your HNC in Engineering.

Complete additional training courses relevant to the engineering discipline of your apprenticeship.
The Successful Candidate:
To be considered, you will need:

5 GCSE’s with a minimum of C grade to include Maths, English and Science. Other subject areas such as Design & Technology, Information Technology or Engineering would be an advantage.

Interest in engineering/production and technology.
