This is a part time role, 22.2 hours per week.

Our Adult provision was graded as Outstanding by Ofsted in May 2022. In 2021-22 there were over 5000 students with a team of 190, bringing education and life-changing experiences to our learners. The Childcare and Teaching Assistant team deliver part time adult 19+ programmes across Leeds City College campuses and outreach centres. We deliver a range of qualifications from entry level to level 3 in early years, childcare, teaching assistants, health and social care and special educational needs. We are looking to appoint an Assessor to work with our team and assess NEW learners. You will carry out assessments in college and over the phone, interviewing new students and ensuring they are enrolled correctly. This post would be suitable for assessors with experience of assessing childcare, teaching assistant or health and social care qualifications. Working pattern is 22.2 per week (0.6 FTE) which can be worked over three or four days per week, based mainly at Deacon House with some off-site assessments; full-year. If preferred by the successful applicant, 40 week, term time only could be offered.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will assess learners in college and over the phone, ensuring they are enrolled correctly.

You will work alongside teachers to ensure that learners make progress and achieve their qualification.

You will keep accurate assessment logs of new students.

You will effectively and efficiently manage appointments, schedule and learner caseload.

You will manage group sizes to ensure all groups are infilled throughout the year to maximise efficiency.

You will work with the Head and admin to ensure the department achieves its annual budget.

You will liaise with third parties (DWP, council, etc) to enhance partnerships where new learners are referred.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

You should hold or be prepared to work towards a L3 qualification in Assessing Vocational Achievement.

You should hold a Level 2/Level 3 qualification in a vocationally related subject area, e.g. Childcare, Teaching Assistant or Health and Social Care.

You should have a good standard of written and spoken English.

You should have sector relevant experience.

Experience of assessing different levels from Entry 3 to Level 3 preferred.

Experience of Google Applications desirable.
