Job Description

Lappet Manufacturing Company is a well-established textile manufacturing company who produce high quality Saudi Arabian head shawls. We currently have a vacancy available for a manual operative in the weaving department, no experience required as all training will be provided.

Roles and Responsibilities

· Remove completed cloth rollers from looms at designated size.

· Manual handling of cloth rollers from loom to truck for transporting to inspection.

· Process and carry out essential quality inspection checks of completed cloth rollers.

· Book cloth rollers in to stock system using touch screen computer.

· Transport cloth rollers to warehouse department and manually unload them onto storage area for further processing.

· Manually collect and process materials needed for winding department.

· Comply with required Health and safety including, but not limited to, the wearing of safety shoes and use of hearing protection (all required PPE supplied).

· To operate machinery efficiently and safely when and where required.

· Carry out any other task as requested, within trained capabilities, to assist with the running of the factory.

Shift Pattern

Initial training for this position will be carried out on day shifts, 7:30am-4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30am-12:30pm on Friday. Upon successful completion of training the hours of work, from then on, will be on a continental shift pattern; 3 shifts on and 3 shifts off. Shifts will rotate between days and nights, 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am (Paid at an average of 42 hours per week).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £10.68-£11.51 per hour
