Job Description
Are you looking for some practical experience to further your knowledge of brain injury? If so, this role will be perfect for you!
We are looking for talented rehabilitation assistants to provide support to our clients who have experienced a traumatic brain injury. Our clients do not require any personal care, our focus is on the retraining and relearning of skills lost due to their injury. We maximise independence through increasing functional skills.
The role
We are looking to add talented individuals to our expanding team in and around Essex with a number of our current clients. If you have a degree in Psychology this role would suit, although this is not a essential requirement.
This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and an innate ability to think quickly on your feet and engage individuals in their rehabilitation programs. There is a wide variety of work within highly experienced multi disciplinary teams that are allocated to the clients packages.
You will be required to perform a variety of cognitive rehabilitation tasks and program delivery in and around the client’s home and community in this varied role. Every day and every client is different, and you will gain experience in a variety of fields, working alongside external professionals. Everything we do is a cognitive task, and it is the role of the RA to break these sequences down and teach clients how to increase their function after a brain injury.
Vocational, leisure and community pursuits identified by the client are to be supported and motivated. There are opportunities to engage in a variety of activities, meaning there is never a dull day!
You will also have the opportunity to work with other professionals in the neuro rehabilitation field, including SLTs, Neuro-Psychologists, Solicitors, Occupational Therapists and specialised allied professionals.
You will receive extensive training, close mentoring, line manager supervision, and clinical supervision with our Clinical Psychologist. There are also opportunities to engage in company events and company research and development projects.
We are developing a number of assistant psychology pathways to align to our quality rehabilitation assistants, providing you with a platform to develop your career.
We provide excellent rates of pay and mileage, as well as personal expense cards. Benefits also include sick pay, extra birthday holiday day, company events, CPD programs, and conference opportunities. We also provide an employee assistance and wellbeing program. We are committed to the environment and offer an employee carbon offset benefit for each of our employees.
