We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our Highway Maintenance & Drainage Team to help in the delivery of our duties as the Local Highway Authority across our Public Rights of Way network.
The role is predominantly field based, but you will be able to work both remotely and in our newly refurbished, modern office space at the Civic Centre in Keynsham.
Working as part of our friendly and busy team, you will:
- Be responsible for safe access and use of Public Rights of Way in a geographic area.
- Undertake prescribed Rights of Way inspections when required.
- Work closely with our minor works contractors to deliver work to a high level of quality in a timely manner.
- Be able to manage and develop strong relationship with landowners.
- Manage small programmes of work for minor rights of way improvements.
- You will have experience of working in the countryside access/highway industry together with strong interpersonal and organisation skills.
- Work with members of the public and external agencies including Parish/Town Councils and local residents’ associations.
A van will be provided for work use. We’re looking for someone with great interpersonal and organisational skills, that has experience working in a public rights of way environment. However, if you have other experience, you think will make you the ideal candidate, please still apply.
Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away.
