We are looking for an exceptional charity retailer to join our new Retail Hub opening soon in Pontefract.
Our Charity shops raise the much needed funds to help run our Animal Centre – so if you have Retail experience and would like to help support local animals, then this could be the job for you!
Our Pontefract Charity Retail Hub is the newest shop to be opening in our Branch area, but it will be so much more than a Charity Shop. It will also be a community hub helping to connect the local community to the work that we do in our Animal Centre at East Ardsley.
As a Retail Supervisor you will be responsible for the day to day stock and sales operations of the Charity shop. You will work with the Stock Processor to ensure the shop is fully stocked selling items of clothing, household goods and small items of furniture. You will work closely with the Deputy Retail Manager to ensure that Sales targets are met and help promote the shop in the local area, including our Animal Food Bank that operates from the shop. You will also be responsible for supervising a team of volunteers in the shop and ensuring that the highest standards of customer service are met.
The work of the Retail Supervisor is varied and the ideal candidate must be adaptable and enjoy the challenge & the fun of a charity shop role. This role is 37.5 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7.
Duties include:
· Creating a pleasant shopping environment with the highest levels of Customer Service
· Meeting sales targets by maximising stock and ensuring high levels of stock density
· Creating eye-catching displays and maintaining great visual merchandising throughout the shop
· Recruiting and training Volunteers in all aspects of charity retail
· Ensuring good practice in Health & Safety throughout the shop premises
· Supporting and promoting the Animal Food Bank scheme within the shop
· Representing the Branch in the community and encouraging customers and donors to support the work of the Animal Centre
It is essential that candidates have Retail experience at a Supervisor's level.
