Overall Purpose
To contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of goods and equipment.
The role requires excellent communication with Customers, colleagues and other stakeholders to maintain the highest standards.
To work alone and as part of a team working predominately providing cover and support to the operation that would include evening, weekend and bank holiday hours.
To represent the company and Trust in a professional manner at all times.
To use electronic and paper-based forms of recording jobs and items delivered and collected.
Making sure that all jobs are carried out correctly and on time.
Main Tasks and Accountabilities:
To carry out journeys to various locations and to agreed routes and timings.
To complete digital and manual documentation required by both legislation and organisational procedures.
To hold a full car license with no more than 3 penalty points.
To maintain regular contact with the operations office using a range of communication systems.
To ensures all items are always kept safe and secure.
To comply always with the Road Traffic Act, and other relevant legislation connected to the vehicle and drivers’ hours.
To notify the operations office without delay, of any accident or incident, in which the driver and or vehicle may have been involved, and to complete vehicle accident documentation immediately.
To act as customer contact at delivery points of service, and relay relevant information to the operations office.
To attend training sessions and staff meetings as and required.
To carry out any adhoc duties as requested.
To complete vehicle checks prior to use, and to notify any defects to the operations office verbally and by recording on appropriate documentation.
To act in a polite and courteous manner to customers and road users at all times.
Look clean and tidy and wear the company issued uniform at all times.
Be pro-active and customer focused at all times.

Respect for Patient Confidentiality
Maintain confidentiality of information, acting within the terms of the Data Protection Act and Caldicott guidance on patient confidentiality at all times.

Health and Safety Risk Management
All staff are responsible for working with their colleagues to maintain and improve the quality of services provided to our patients and other service users. This includes complying at all times with the business’s polices, including Health and Safety polices, in particular by following agreed safe working procedures and reporting incidents using the business’s incident reporting system.
All post holders have a responsibility to report risks such as clinical and non-clinical accidents or incidents promptly. They should be familiar with the Company use of risk assessments to predict and control risk, as well as the incident reporting system for learning from mistakes and near issues in order to improve services.
Post holders must also attend training identified by their manager and/or stated by ERS Medical to be mandatory.
All Individuals have a responsibility, under the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and subsequently published regulations, to ensure that ERS Medical’s health and safety policies and procedures are complied with to maintaining a safe working environments for patients, visitors and employees.
All staff have a duty to protect their own health and safety and that of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

Training:
Full role related training is provided and paid. You will also be required to successfully complete a package of NHS E-learning modules.
