Grade UE08: £43,414 - £51,805 per annum

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Moray House School of Education and Sport are seeking to further enhance our student’s experiences and wellbeing throughout their student journey. To contribute to this, we are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Lecturer to lead on developing our student’s peer-support networks, and contribute to opportunities for our students to develop student literacies in learning and wellbeing that will support them to flourish.

The Opportunity:

The post holder will develop, implement and lead on evidence-based strategies for enhancing student support, the student experience and student wellbeing at MHSES for all students, with a focus on building our peer-support offering across UG and PGT and contribute to the integration of wellbeing and academic literacies in and through our curricula, and in our student support ecosystem. This is a new and exciting post in MHSES, and it is anticipated that the main responsibilities and the indicative time contribution to these will evolve.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • A PhD or equivalent, either submitted or awarded by the time of appointment in a related field.
  • Experience of development, coordination and management of peer support programmes.
  • Experience in designing and delivering student experience and wellbeing initiatives.
  • A thorough knowledge of recent developments and priorities in the higher education sector, relating to student experience, widening participation, student support, student wellbeing and peer support.
  • Evidence of high-quality teaching at the forefront of the discipline including recent, sustained and developing attainments in teaching and assessment in student wellbeing.
  • Evidence of successfully driving improvement in student experience.
  • A proven record of ability to manage time, budget and to work to strict deadlines.
  • Skills in managing, motivating and supporting people (including both students and colleagues).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication and organisational skills.
  • A strongly developed student-focussed approach.
