Job Objectives and Responsibilities
- Access control/gate operation
- Identification checks (personnel and vehicle)
- Manage deliveries and collections
- Visitor management
- Contractor management
- Searches (personnel and vehicle)
- Car park management
- Site and building patrolling (on foot and by vehicle)
- Response to emergency incidents
- Out of hours building checks
Main Duties
- The control of access and egress to site of both vehicles and pedestrians
- Vehicle searching to ensure that no prohibited items (unless allowed for a specific purpose) is allowed onto site
- The control of the current barrier/gate systems at each location
- Provide a visual deterrent and observe/detail any suspicious activity
- Internal and external patrolling as directed by the gate Supervisor
- Possible deployment in the event of protester action in support of the MDP and customer requirement
- Oral/written reports will be required where applicable
- Ensuring a secure site during out of hours
Hourly rate - £12.73
60 - 62.5 hours per week
Person Specification
- Must be able to obtain/have SC level clearance and be able to progress to DV level
- Due to client restriction, only person of British Nationality can be considered for this role
- Ideally a holder of an SIA Licence, but full training and licence application can be provided
- Previous security experience
Health and Safety Responsibilities
- Follow group and company policies and procedures at all times
- Report ant apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received
- Report any issues or training needs to your Line Manager and / or your divisional incident reporting system
Information Security
- Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities
- Proactively identify and report security risks to your manger
- Report actual and suspected security incidents
