Arriva Bus UK is recruiting for an experienced and passionate HR Director. As part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of UK Bus and one of two HR Directors leading the Business Partnering teams, this role is a key partner to 5 Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members and circa 30 SLT stakeholders. The role is also part of the North West Area Leadership Team. This role will lead on key people activities and partner with stakeholders to drive the People Agenda within UK Bus.
This role is full time, permanent, offering competitive salary, bonus and company car or car allowance. You will be part of the North West and Wales team, but also required to travel nationally each week therefore we are flexible with you location.
You’ll lead a team of 4 HR Business Partners and 1 L&D Specialist supporting c. 2000 colleagues with all generalist and strategic HR activities. An active part of your stakeholder Leadership Teams, you’ll work with each functional and area team to determine People requirements and drive UK Bus People initiatives.
You’ll be responsible for leading on key HR projects aligned to our overall People Agenda. A collaborative and positive HR professional, you’ll work to align all HR functional activities to promote and enhance HR service delivery.
Your experience will be in a multi-site, possibly matrix-structured, large organisation and you’ll have the ability to lead and work with a broad range of stakeholders. You’ll have experience of working in a highly unionised environment, driving a partnership approach with the recognised Trade Union.
Requirements
You’ll be an FCIPD Qualified (or equivalent) HR professional who thrives in an environment of continuous improvement and change. You’ll be technically astute with good knowledge of UK employment legislation, and your experience at executive level will mean you have good commercial and strategic awareness.
A strong leader with exceptional communication skills, you’ll be naturally collaborative and pride yourself on building positive and productive relationships. A resilient individual who leads by example, you’ll be comfortable influencing and negotiating to achieve positive improvements within the business.
