This is an exciting time for London Borough of Bexley; we are at the heart of regeneration and change as London’s growth opportunities move eastwards. The Council is planning for unprecedented growth and development, but a key corporate and political priority is to ensure that growth is appropriately located and managed. In the preparation of the statutory local plan and other planning documents, the planning policy team plays an important role in securing good growth for the borough.
This is a career grade post, in that a candidate can be considered at the Graduate Planner, Planner and Senior Planner levels, depending on the degree of experience. The ideal candidate will have experience related to the production of planning policy documents and associated strategies and guidance, including monitoring and review, and be able to provide advice and support across specialist topic area such as planning policy, strategy and growth, including infrastructure planning, sustainability and conservation – please see the accompanying job description for details.
You will be ambitious for new opportunities and want to work as part of dynamic and friendly team to help meet the Council’s ambitions. Relevant planning (or equivalent) qualifications and eligibility for membership of the RTPI (or similar organisation) are required, commensurate with the career grade being considered – please refer to the person specification in the accompanying job description for details.
