Welcome to the Service Delivery Team
The Service Delivery Team are based in York at the Route Operating Centre (ROC). Historically, the ‘Control' Team was set up to support all things operational. However, the Service Delivery Team in York ROC is more than just operations, it is about all aspects of delivering the operational train plan with a greater focus on the customer and their experience at stations and onboard.
This fast-paced role within the service delivery team is being introduced as an opportunity to support the LNER Service Delivery Team at York ROC.
The purpose of the temporary post is to provide assistance with planning and resourcing activities as a result of on the daily constraints caused by a shortfall of crew and/or lack of unit availability.
The key responsibilities of the role will be to assess the number of uncovered turns for the following day and to identify what diagrams are likely to be uncovered. The goal each day will be to use the Driver and Train Manager diagrams (together with unit availability and the maintenance requirements) to re-plan the service and to create a list of cancellations and alterations as appropriate. The role will be fast paced and so attention to detail with the ability to solve problems will be essential. The role will allow the opportunity to work very closely with the Resource Controllers for Train Crew and Rolling Stock but also with close engagement with the Fleet Planners and Hitachi.
The post is based with the LNER team at York ROC and shift coverage will include working between 1400-2100 from Monday to Sunday on a part time basis (likely 2/3 shifts weekly)

- Be a methodical thinker and an effective problem solver

- Able to build strong working relationships
- Have strong communication skills both written and verbal
- A strong negotiator, able to question effectively
- IT literate, ideally with knowledge of railway IT systems (such as TRUST, GENIUS, CCF)
- Knowledge of railway operation and performance and traincrew agreements
