We are currently seeking an experienced and diligent individual to join the team in the global role of Employee Communications Manager to develop and implement internal communications plans and activities for the Retail Banking & Strategy (RB&S) team within HSBC’s Wealth & Personal Banking (WPB) business.
RB&S provides products and services that include current accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as savings, investments, insurance and wealth management. The team supports customers through our branch network, self-service terminals, telephone service centres, and internet and mobile banking.
Reporting to the Global Head of Retail Banking Communications, the successful candidate will join a collaborative and supportive team at an exciting time for the bank, with the opportunity to contribute to high-profile campaigns.

In this role, you will:
- Support the Senior Internal Communications Manager to contribute to the development of internal communications narratives and help manage the planning and delivery of colleague content and campaigns.
- Provide counsel to business stakeholders, influencing their thinking on strategic communications as well as coaching them on delivery and story-telling.
- Provide high-quality change communications support for strategic business transformation programmes, partnering with other members of the WPB Communications team and stakeholders within the business.
- Lead and support on the logistics and content for both in-person and online events.
- Manage digital communications channels, using data to provide insights into new ways to improve engagement.
- Consider the external implications of implementing employee communications campaigns and projects, and collaborate with media relations colleagues on external messages to mitigate risks.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
Essential:
- Demonstrable experience, passion and success working in a busy internal communication team for a large organisation
- Ability to work within an ambiguous environment, prioritising and reconciling competing demands and resolving complex issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, working quickly, managing time and multiple priorities effectively
- Creative and innovative mindset, continually looking to improve the way we deliver internal communication within RB&S
- Ability to analyse data and provide actionable insights
- Experience of capturing and editing video content
Desirable
- Knowledge and/or experience of Retail Banking, Wealth Management, Private Banking, or Financial Services
- Experience working in a global matrixed organisation
- Academic background in a related field
- Internal communication qualification
The base location for this role is London/Hybrid.
