The UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub (UKHIH) was founded in 2020 with the aim of solving big humanitarian problems. Hosted by Elrha and funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) currently until 2025, our work focuses on accelerating the development of the humanitarian innovations and strengthening the sector, fostering creative and rigorous solutions by actively bringing people together (researchers, humanitarian responders, donors, communities, and the private sector) and using resources strategically to leverage the best expertise and best intent.
Do you have robust knowledge and experience of the Humanitarian sector and have experience of affecting positive change? Are you a thought leader, experienced in driving evidence based innovation and research practices with the ability to guide and facilitate new and improved ways of tackling humanitarian challenges?
We’re seeking an individual to inspire and convene global expertise and knowledge, bringing together diverse partners and networks to tackle major innovation challenges. Excellent communication and partnership management skills will be required, along with an outstanding ability to plan and deliver impactful results.
Our Director plays the lead role in building the profile, activities and reputation of the UKHIH, positioning the Hub as a global leader in international humanitarian innovation research and development.

Hybrid Working
Elrha is currently transitioning to new hybrid ways of working and with the aim of promoting flexible working practices. Other than the expectation to attend occasional team meetings in person at our office locations in Cardiff and London, employees can chose to work either in their designated office base or at their home within the UK. Salaries and benefits
Jobs are positioned within the salary structure based on evaluation. New employees will usually be appointed at the bottom of the grade, however the appointed salary may also take into account the relevant experience a candidate brings to a role. Elrha is committed to paying staff in a fair and equitable way and will benchmark all salary offers in line with the pay of existing staff.
Elrha also has a comprehensive benefits package including 25 days holiday entitlement which increases year on year, minimum 5% employer pension contribution (3% employee contribution), staff discount scheme, Employee Assistance Programme and life cover.
