Job Description

An exciting secondment/fixed term opportunity for 11 months has arisen to join our Continuous Improvement Team as part of The PRIDE Way – our Trust wide Quality Improvement methodology and management system based on LEAN. We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual with skills and experience in LEAN and/or involvement in NHS Quality Improvement to join our established team. You will be working closely with the Senior Continuous Improvement Specialists and senior leaders of the organisation to select and run improvement work to help us achieve our ambition of ‘zero defects’ and to support the Trust in building a culture of continuous improvement together with our Organisational Development Team.

BHRUT has collaborated with Middlesex University to be able to provide university credits to newly qualified nurses, AHP's and midwives on the Trust's Preceptorship QI Course . You will have responsibility to provide support in leading, delivering and improving our preceptorship programme to a wide range of clinical staff. It is essential for the post holder to have proven experience of teaching and coaching to a range of people with various abilities on numerous topics.

Please be aware, this role may close early due to a high number of applications. Apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

The Continuous Improvement Facilitator role has been designed specifically to support the delivery of the Trust’s accelerated transformation programme; this is a permanent role within the organisation.

The post holder will actively support the implementation and development of the Trust accelerated transformation programme as part of the Continuous Improvement Team. This team will develop a high level of specialist knowledge of lean methodologies branded The Pride Way – to support continuous improvement within the Trust.

Under the leadership of our Chair, Jacqui Smith and Matthew Trainer, our Chief Executive we provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs. More than half of our 7,500 strong workforce are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and most live in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge.

Our services include all the major specialties of large acute hospitals, operating from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic and Harold Wood Polyclinic.

As we recover from Covid-19, we’re proud to be leading the way in reducing the time our patients wait to get the treatment they need. The pandemic provided the drive for our teams to innovate and change.

We know we have more work to do to improve waiting times for urgent and emergency care, and this will be one of the many benefits of our closer collaboration with Barts Health. Working with them and with all our partners across north east London, we will find a sustainable solution to enhance patient care.

We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We’re also pleased to be part of the NEL Cancer Alliance.

The role will give you the opportunity to learn the tools and techniques of The PRIDE Way and be part of embedding The PRIDE Way principles and cultural development in the Trust. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational, communication and networking skills. The Continuous Improvement Facilitator will work closely with multidisciplinary teams within clinical areas and operational teams within the Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to develop in quality improvement within Healthcare, to be part of a team that supports the organisation with the delivery of the Trust's vision and objectives and that have values based on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
