Location: Swindon, SN3
Days & Hours: Average of 32 hours per week over a 2 week period. Monday 8.30am-4.30pm, Thursday 8.30am-4.30pm, Friday 8.30am-4.30pm and alternate Saturday and Sunday 8.30am-4.30pm. These hours can be worked by more than one person.
Pay: Weekday: £17.00-£18.00 per hour, Weekends: £19.00-£20.00 per hour – dependent on experience, qualifications and training compliance.
Driver Required: Essential, due to need to take Connor out to activities.
Essential Experience: Confident about working in Connor's own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of him and his family. Aptitude and desire to work with children/young adults with disabilities.
Desirable: Experience of and qualifications in caring for children with disabilities.
Pets: You will need to work alongside dogs in the family home
Accommodation (while on duty): Fully adapted family home

We are seeking a patient, caring and vigilant Support Worker to assist our client, Connor, born in 2007. He is extremely close to his mother, grandparents and aunty. Connor loves animals especially the family dogs. He has a really keen interest in anything car related and loves going for drives with his family and tinkering with mopeds with his grandpa.
Connor has an acquired brain injury and associated physical, sensory and behavioural difficulties, however, he is fully independent in getting around and independent with his personal care. When Connor is out and about he requires constant, sensitive 1:1 supervision, due to his severe visual impairment and being unsteady when walking and running.
Your role will be to assist Connor to access leisure activities at home and in the local community, he particularly enjoys going out for a drive. To assist, engage and encourage to participate in recreational activities and provide companionship You will be expected to respond sensitively and appropriately to his needs and emotions and work cooperatively with his Case Manager. mother and therapists.
