Neighbourhood Action Co-ordinator

Permanent

Grade 4 - £30,151 - £37,261

Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity review

Working 36.5 Hours per week

Birmingham City Council’s Neighbourhoods Division is seeking to recruit 2 Neighbourhoods Action Co-ordinators (NACs) as part of a new programme of work; seeking to develop new ways of action-focused collaborative working with residents, community groups and local partners such as the police. The postholders' work will be focused within 2 wards per NAC, of the city, each with environmental and neighbourhood-level challenges.

The focus will be on partnership development and community capacity building to positively impact neighbourhood priorities such as street scene and community safety issues as set out in ward plans etc.

The role will require the successful candidates to work closely with ward councillors, residents and relevant stakeholders, to work collaboratively, tasking council services where appropriate, developing constructive solutions to the presenting issues. A small grants fund is available to support local organisations and collaboratives in developing ongoing solutions.

You will need to be highly experienced in community development & support, action orientated and an excellent collaborator/communicator, with the ability to engage with and mobilise a wide variety of people and stakeholders.
