Job Description
Heron Farm is a family-owned vineyard and orchard in Weston, Honiton (www.heron-farm.co.uk), with a busy and popular café on site that was established in 2020.
The business is growing, and we are now looking for Front of House Supervisor, to oversee the service element of the café. The café has a capacity of up to 80 (inside, and outside in our beautiful walled garden and play park) in peak times.
£12.0/hr Hours: 40 hours per week, spread across 5 days, to include one weekend day. Our main hours of operation are 8 – 5 Mon – Sat, 9 – 5 Sun and your working hours will reflect this (although there may be an occasional requirement to work in the evening, if we are running an event).
As CAFE ASSISTANT MANAGER, you will be expected to oversee all elements of operation, including:
Delivering excellent standards of customer service at all times by listening, understanding and dealing with customer queries in a confident, professional, knowledgeable and friendly manner – and leading and motivating the team to do the same
Regularly running the shift, ensuring that daily shift plans are followed (managing breaks, shift changeovers and table plans) – whilst also undertaking ‘hands on’ duties as required
Assist with ensuring that high standards of hygiene, safety and general housekeeping are met at all times
Effective communication with the kitchen team e.g. in relation to food allergens Dealing with complaints in the restaurant through to a successful resolution; passing customer feedback to management
Build and maintain good working relationships with other front of house team members, ensuring that the team work together in a common goal and vision of delighting our customers to drive sales and return visits It is essential that candidates:
Have at least one years’ experience in a supervisory role at a cafe, restaurant or other food outlet - Are outgoing, cheerful and friendly; able to provide consistently high levels of customer service and, crucially, are able to motivate and manage others to do the same Have a ‘can-do’ and problem-solving attitude
Care about every aspect of the customer experience, from cleanliness to venue presentation and product quality. Benefits: - £12hr 40 hours per week, to include weekends and some evening work - 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays
