Mencap’s Learning Disability Information and Advice Service (England) are looking for a passionate, experienced manager to be a Learning Disability Caseworker Team Manager to our dedicated second tier advisers - the Learning Disability Caseworkers.
The Learning Disability Caseworker Team Manager is a permanent position and will be subject to DBS checking. This is a fulltime position, 37.5 hours per week and is a home based role with occasional travel to Peterborough, or other locations if needed.

What will you do as a Learning Disability Caseworker Team Manager?
- You will play a key role in shaping and delivering effective, person-centred, accessible advice. You will lead on safeguarding, work with internal and external partners, and have a firm understanding of risk management, quality control, reporting and data management.
- You will coach your team, building a positive performance culture, undertake regular supervisions, and monitor their wellbeing.
- This role requires emotional resilience, the ability to be progressing multiple tasks at once, and a person who will lead by example, with integrity and professionalism.
What will you bring to the Learning Disability Caseworker Team Manager role?
- A track record of delivering and managing advice giving.
- Understand how to shape and manage a casework service.
- You can lead on identifying and managing of safeguarding and difficult cases. Dealing with complaints and investigating issues.
- You have experience of working in a social care and advice setting, preferably with people with a learning disability, or other excluded groups.
- You can communicate effectively, demonstrating an excellent standard of written and spoken English, an additional language is useful but not essential.
- You have experience of managing people and partnerships.
- You can interpret data and confidently use Microsoft applications and CRM systems, such as Dynamics 365, or Advice Pro.
- You have qualifications in advice, either generally, or for a specific area of law.
- You are familiar with the AQS, Advice Quality Standard.
