An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our new Adventure Play Team in The Lost Garden as a Groundskeeper.
This role is based in the new ‘Lost Garden’ attraction opening at Blenheim Palace in Spring 2023. It is a hands on and mainly outdoors role compromising of general maintenance and upkeep of the gardens in the Walled Garden area. This will include daily checks, repairs, and maintenance, supporting the visitor teams in the day to day running of the day visitor along with anything else required to ensure a safe, well maintained and welcoming environment for all users and visitors to the Palace.
You will be required to work as part of a 7-day rota to ensure the business has maintenance support at weekends and on public holidays which are generally the busiest times of the week.

Responsibilities:

To carry out general maintenance work and compliance checks as directed the Palace Maintenance Manager.

Carry out and record tasks including daily health and safety checks, meter readings, minor buildings repair and maintenance.

To liaise on day-to-day issues and breakdowns of the site.

Responding to the maintenance needs of the Lost Garden Adventure Play and wider Walled Garden Area.

Daily checks and general maintenance of water play feature.

General gardening duties including the care for and operation of machinery and equipment as required.

Path maintenance, edging, hedging cutting, weeding, and identifying the presence of and controlling common pests and diseases (training will be provided).

Comply with proper safety policies and procedures as required (i.e. when using cleaning chemicals, reporting incidents, COSHH, etc). Training will be provided.

Help with day to day duties working alongside the existing team.

Maintenance Operative, Grounds person, Groundskeeper, Gardener, Grounds Maintenance, Maintenance assistant.
