This opportunity is in the solution design and development arena for Manual Tester who will play a major role with the technical design and development of the company’s technical offerings. The role is based at our Leicester office with occasional assignments at client locations.
Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities):
Ability to scope, develop, execute and maintain automated test scripts/manual test cases from a changing document baseline with the ability to update documentation.-
Responsible for leading full life cycle manual and automated testing defined process of company's/client’s products and solutions, customer's systems and supplier’s deliveries using well-structured maintainable code and scripts thus providing methodical assurance on the projects /assignments in hand.

Executing test cases: You should execute the test cases and document the results in detail.

Ability to interpret business requirements, and convert them into repeatable, appropriate tests and strong understanding of test management systems.

Should be able to document and implement project test plans and test specification for functional and non-functional based on Functional, Non-Functional and Technical documentation and requirements.

Reporting bugs: If you find any defects or issues while testing, you should report them to the development team using a bug tracking tool.

Maintains open communication within delivery teams, project board and external bodies regarding difficult, confidential and complex issues.

Ability to interpret and communicate complex detailed information and data within the test function, project teams and across the intra organizational project team when required based on key metrics around the performance of the team, as well as the quality and health of the various product lines.

Collaborating with the development team: You should work closely with the development team to ensure that the defects are fixed and retested.

Provide effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives and performance measurements against set plans.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed [The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment]
Ability to use test tools for test management [JIRA, HP, RATIONAL IBM]; automated functional system and regression testing [selenium, SOAPUI] and types of performance testing [Load Runner/JMeter]-
Agile methodology familiarity.

Creation of traceability matrix, test strategy, test plan, test schedule including scope and estimates, sign off document, necessary training material and the supporting of test script authoring with focus and maintenance of quality standards and validation techniques

A good understanding of Client Server, n-tier and Event Driven architectures; latest development platforms (J2EE, .NET); Mobile development (iOS and Android)

Knowledge of working with Continuous Integration, Delivery and Deployment environment and proven experience of using the associated tools like Maven, Jenkins, Ant etc.

Experience of working with Agile, SCRUM or RAD techniques and exposure to web services testing using SOAPUI, test driven development approach such as Cucumber, Selenium WebDriver

Ability to conduct de-briefing and defect triage sessions with internal and external stakeholders to confirm completion of all QA activities along with other routine defect management tasks.

Scope and manage the manual and automation test effort on Linux, Unix and Windows platforms in traditional and cloud-based settings with a focus on efficient risk-based testing

Enthusiastic about the web technologies, latest browsers and operating system platforms and at least theoretical understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, AJAX and JSON, UML, TDD, BDD along with core programming languages and development platforms like JAVA/.NET

Preferably ISEB and ISTQB Testing certified and with scheduled for higher certifications
