Role: Transport Manager
Type: full time (40 hours per week)
Salary: £40,000 per annum + benefits for a fully qualified Transport Manager
Location: Scorrier, Redruth, Cornwall
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm

Rodda’s is the ‘go to’ brand and market leader in clotted cream, as well as producing bottled milk and butter, all made with Cornish milk from farms within a 30 km radius of our Creamery in Scorrier, Redruth, Cornwall.
The Rodda’s family first started producing cream 130 years ago and we are now a well known and loved Cornish heritage brand. We have a direct milk supply from our local farm network and we sell our products globally, including the major UK retailers, Food Service businesses and to our strong local market in Cornwall and Devon. We maintain the family ethos, values and culture, whilst operating to leading industry standards.
Role
This is a key leadership role, managing a team of over 20 Van Drivers, ensuring they deliver great customer service to our local customers today and in the future. Our Van Drivers are the face of Rodda’s within the local area, our ambassadors on the road.
Responsibilities
· manage our fleet of local sales vans ensuring that our customers receive their orders in full, on time and with a high level of customer service.
· ensure that our fleet of vehicles operate safely and legally at all times
· lead a team of 20+ Drivers, keeping our Drivers motivated and engaged
· contribute to local sales development, improving top line sales and profitability
· monitor a range of transport KPI’s to meet budget/target requirements and to drive continuous improvements
· plan and submit proposals for team development and the technical requirements of our fleet in the future to meet business growth and sustainability targets
· conduct all statutory inspections of vehicles
· manage our on site garage and mechanic to ensure effective fleet maintenance
· work closely with our Sales, Customer Service and Warehouse teams
Requirements
· must hold a Transport Manager CPC (National) and possess proven fleet management experience
· proven leadership skills to motivate and manage a team of 20+ Drivers
· planned, organised and analytical approach to fleet management and scheduling
· highly commercial
· ability to take ownership of issues and make informed decisions
· strong teamworking and communication skills
