Position summary and overview
To organise, allocate and record draughting resources within the Drawing Office to meet customer requests. To ensure that accurate, up-to-date, drawings of the whole site are managed as per requests and instruction from the drawing owners.
To maintain the Engineering ‘Change Control’ log and document storage area.
Key Roles/Responsibilities:
- Maintain and modify existing drawings as per requests and instructions from the drawing owners, targeted at maintaining “as built” status.
- Update the “Engineering Change Control” log and maintain the storage of the documentation on completion
- Manage and assist work relating to site “Validation” projects
- Provide and maintain DOP’s for activities related to the Drawing Office and CAD systems
- Utilise IT to best effect to provide draughting, drawing management and design services
- Keep informed of the latest “state of the art” and additional packages related to CAD and IT applications which will most benefit the Company and the efficient running of the Drawing Office.
Critical Tasks
- Organise and manage the Drawing Office resources, allocating work to meet client requests, supplementing fluctuations in workload by utilizing Contract Draughtsman
- Organise and co-ordinate the application and storage of Local Authority Planning and Building Approval documentation.
- Organise the storage of all drawings related technical information, plus maintain a register to ensure easy retrieval and GMP compliance
Critical Skills
- Produce engineering drawings from outline specifications in accordance with requirements given by engineering and management staff
