Risk and Control Analyst

Glasgow

As a Barclays Risk and Control Analyst, you will be joining Markets & Research team within Chief Operating Office area. In your new role, you will be instrumental in implementing and managing the delivery of issues management across Markets & Research Technology as well as providing efficient and effective daily support to the Risk & Control team lead. This role will build relationships with our control partners and technical delivery leads to establish effective, efficient modes of communication, estimation, prioritisation, and escalation.

What will you be doing?
• Serving as Subject Matter Expert for the creation and management of all ORAC (Operational Risk & Control) risks
  • Being responsible for supporting the creation and submission of ACPs and ICPs
  • Ensuring a solid risk and control culture is maintained through developing and managing relationships within Technology
  • Being responsible for managing the updates of all ORAC actions/issues
  • Communicating effectively, liaising with multiple stakeholders to ensure clear reporting on Issues of interest to management
  • Contributing to the establishment of a community of Control Leads & Electronic Trading Standards Owners for each leadership team
  • Establishing and maintaining progress reports for the organisation
  • Being a trusted advisor for the TC2 risk & control agenda
What we’re looking for:
• Data extraction and manipulation skills, proficient use of excel or similar tool
  • Previous use of jira/ confluence or similar
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills and solid stakeholder management
  • Proven ability to influence and manage across multiple teams and regions to deliver solutions to complex problems
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Naturally curious and attracted to complicated problems
  • Able to apply order and process, yet flexible to adapt as needed for continuous improvement
  • Significant experience using communication, process, and transparency to balance regulatory and control partner demands with competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently to take a problem, break it down, recognise additional questions and find solutions
