Job Description

Security Operations Governance Analyst
Northampton

As a Barclays Security Operations Governance Analyst you will support the delivery of Intelligence Driven Defence (IDD) based processes and procedures used in the management, investigation and resolution of security incidents across Barclays, extending the processes across additional CSO functions such as Cyber Crime and Insider Threat. You will also assist with maturing existing Cyber Operations and JOC processes and help drive the capability of the teams through regular testing of processes, handling control and risk based assessments.

Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive, and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
• Providing regular metrics to assist with the identification of key threat trends and themes
  • Assisting ongoing security education and outreach programmes as well as contributing to general management tasks and ongoing development within the team
  • Creating process documentation using industry recognised tooling, in accordance with relevant standards, control frameworks and regulatory requirements
  • Reviewing and maintaining core documentation and processes in line with the defined schedule
  • Delivering operational governance support including co-ordination of regular forums, risk management, model governance and reporting on issues across Security Operations
  • Participating in strategic projects such as Fusion Cell, Insider Threat IDD
  • Handling the wider Governance team as required (e.g. issue management, compliance reporting, control testing)
  • Engaging with stakeholders in all business areas to ensure that current security incident defence capabilities and vulnerabilities are clearly understood

What we’re looking for:
• Ability to manage several high-priority tasks simultaneously
  • Experience of understanding and managing compliance, risk, control and governance
  • Significant Experience of process modelling and optimisation
  • Excellent Experience of Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Knowledge of approaches to governance, risk management and control and an awareness of regulatory requirements, ideally within the financial services industry
  • Ability to efficiently analyse data, identify trends and themes and present reports to key stakeholders
  • Experience in managing stakeholders effectively across a variety of grades
  • Significant Knowledge of tools such as Service Now, SharePoint, Confluence and JIRA

Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997.

We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
