Maintenance Assistant
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Aim of Post
Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Technician will have a practical role to ensure the upkeep of the building is executed to an excellent standard. They will have a wide variety of trade skills - electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, small construction and repair, IT, paint & decorating, and statutory compliance.
You need a great eye for detail, be professional and friendly, and ensure that the development is maintained at all times.
Role Specific Accountabilities
- Conduct general site maintenance inside and out as directed by the Management team.
- Repair, maintain and replace all electrical and plumbing fixtures, fittings, decor and general appliances for residents, ensuring minimum inconvenience.
- Carry out regular inspections of all areas of the development to check that fixtures, fittings, and equipment for use are all in working order.
- Ensures that all defects reported by residents and staff are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
- Deal with and assist contractors and suppliers when these are on site.
- Ensure all stock, tools and materials are stored safely.
- Ensure all Health & Safety procedures and policies are respected and implemented in accordance with legislation and company requirements.
- Proactively work to ensure that the planned maintenance programme is implemented in the most efficient manner.
- Full understanding of the development's safety and emergency
- Implement programmed maintenance cleaning.
- Carry out corridor maintenance, cyclical carpet cleaning and floor polishing.
- Communicate effectively with both the residents and work colleagues.
Required Experience and Technical Competency
- Previous experience in a similar role within hotels or residential developments
- Preferably new build experience within a similar environment
- Qualifications (e.g. City and Guilds) in one or more trades
- Self-directed and able to work under pressure.
- Committed to delivering high level of service with a warm and friendly approach.
- Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
