Technical IT Project Specialists
Three Way Logistics is an industry leader in material management, logistics, and comprehensive transportation services with proven accuracy, flexibility, and on-time delivery is looking for a full-time Technical IT Project Specialistsfor their Fremont, CA or Austin, TX locations.
Pay: $80,000 to $85,000 per year or negotiable on experience.
Job Summary:
The Technology Program Manger will plan, establish, manage, train, and improve information technology (IT) projects, and will serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of assigned projects. The focus will mainly be on our Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Acute knowledge of API and EDI Software integration projects is a must, Transportation or Logistics software operations knowledge is also required. A background in Software Applications Training, Process Management and Process Documentation is requested. This position will require some travel to US Domestic locations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Manages assigned IT projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project.
· Travel is required for this position.
· Develops, maintains, and revises proposals for assigned projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing.
· Drives the training and improvements of the TMS and WMS applications, and Integrations relevant to each.
· Ensures staff utilize the TMS and WMS to the fullest capabilities, and processes are adhered to across all company infrastructure.
· Sets and tracks project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
· Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.
· Collaborates/Communicates with customers regarding any integration needs
· Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports.
· Performs other I.T. related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
. Thorough understanding of project management principles, documentation, and planning.
· Travel is required for this position.
· Organized with attention to detail.
· Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Thorough knowledge of Application Programming Interfaces, including legacy EDI, API’s XML Files and REST API programming, Secure FTP configuration…Sandbox Testing procedures. Must have experience with Postman API software and programming.
· Thorough understanding of information technology procedures and practices.
· Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware used in the organization and the industry.
· Ability to train staff and monitor proficient use of applications
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Office365 and related software.
· Ability to motivate groups of people to complete a project in a timely manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Hires and trains members of the technical staff.
· Assigns duties and responsibilities and oversees workflow of project staff.
· Oversees the day-to-day workflow of the department.
· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
· Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Science-related field required.
· At least three years of related experience in the Transportation or Logistics industries required.
. Three years minimum, of supporting TMS/WMS Software is required.
Physical Requirements: · Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
