About the Trust

Alder Hey Children’s Hospital cares for over 330,000 children, young people, and their families every year. As one of Europe’s biggest and busiest children’s hospitals, we treat everything from common illnesses to highly complex and specialist conditions. In addition to our main hospital site, we offer paediatric services at a number of community sites and hold local clinics across Merseyside, Cumbria, Shropshire, Wales, and the Isle of Man. We also provide specialist inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Alder Park Building in North Liverpool.

What you’ll be responsible for:

· Meeting and greeting patients, parents, carers, and general public at reception in a polite, professional and confidential manner.

· Scan all documentation in a timely and accurate manner.

· Book in/outpatients on arrival of clinic appointments.

· Deal with emails via the Inbox.

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

· An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

· Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

· A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

· Excellent communication skills.

· Excellent organisational skills.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Packages e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

· Confidence in dealing with patients face to face.
