JOB DESCRIPTION - Rainbow are excited to be looking for an organised and practical individual with a hands-on approach to cover for Maternity leave as an assistant in the Wardrobe department. This role is ideal for individuals interested in a Monday – Friday job in Events. You will be working closely with the other members of the Wardrobe team to prepare and maintain costumes for events. You will also be required to refurb costumes that are sent into the company for bespoke cleaning and repairs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS - We are looking for someone with a fabricating background such as costume, modelmaking, props or theatre. Must have good communication skills as they will be working in a small team where they will be required to collaborate daily. Problem-solving is a large part of the job as projects require a variety of solutions. Previous Wardrobe experience is welcome but not mandatory. We are looking for someone who is available from the beginning of July.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES –
- Washing, drying and organising mascot costumes and props
- Packing and unpacking events costumes
- Checking for fixes and maintaining costumes to a high standard with running repairs for events
- Creating new components for events costumes when necessary
- Checking over, assessing and improving costumes sent in for refurbishments
- Utilising storage and improving workspace
Accountable to: Wardrobe Manager
Principal contacts: Managing Director; Event department personnel, Sales department and Production department
Hours of work: 37½ hours per week – Flexible working policy in place subject to line manager agreement/approval
Salary: £22,000pa pro rata for the months worked
Holiday Entitlement: 12 days (plus bank holidays)

All work is done at our workshops in South London (UK). Therefore, applicants need to be sure they can commute here on a daily basis.
