Job Description
Established Large bakery with deep roots in Artisan Chilled and Frozen breads for the UK & European markets is looking to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant . Reporting directly into the Finance Manager, this role will support the purchase ledger team and will be responsible for inputting, processing and reconciling purchase invoices.
Hours of Work: 40 hrs per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30-17:00
Main duties:
- Timely and accurate logging, coding, entering & filing of supplier invoices/credit notes daily.
- Requesting statements from vendors and reconcile statements once in a month.
- Deal with supplier queries, contractors, and other business departments about accounts payable or payments made.
- Timely payments of suppliers and staff by BACS and cheques.
- Distributing invoice copies for authorisation among the relevant departments internally.
- Liaise with the purchasing team and other departments to resolve invoice queries.
- Preparation of period end accruals, through use of unauthorised invoices, goods received not invoiced and departmental heads.
- Agree Inter Company balances monthly
- Assist with preparation of periodic management accounts.
- Preparation & submission of period end VAT & Intrastat reports.
- Conduct Aged Creditor reconciliation and prepare for review. Close purchase ledger.
- Assist with other Adhoc duties as and when required.
The Candidate:
- Previous experience working within payables
- Excellent time management and organisation skills to meet deadlines and demands.
- Good IT skills encompassing the ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Attention to detail and able to work to a high degree of accuracy
- A strong communicator
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
