Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity within the Acute Therapy Service at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for you to be a part of our Acute Therapy Team, covering Accident & Emergency (A&E), Same Day Emergency care (SDEC), Enhanced Care Unit (ECU) and the Acute Medical Unit (AMU).

The successful candidate will be a dynamic and motivated, can provide decisive and effective therapy input, excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and an ability to work under pressure, both as part of a team and independently. Any successful candidate will be expected to participate in 7-day services. The organisation is fully committed to staff development. A robust supervision and appraisal system is in place in addition to in-service training.

University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is located right in the heart of London’s West End and is easily accessible with excellent rail, underground and road links.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) who can work autonomously and has the relevant knowledge, skills and motivation to help deliver and develop the acute therapy service within this fast paced and dynamic department.

This post would suit an OT who has completed their core rotations and who is looking to gain experience, consolidate their knowledge and develop their skills in a senior capacity. You will be supported by Band 7 and band 8 Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, in addition to your peers.

As an integral member of the Acute Therapy Service you will be supported in developing your leadership and clinical skills, to actively participate in service improvement and integration with community services and other providers. You will provide high quality Occupational Therapy input for patients, working autonomously when required.

We work jointly with Physiotherapists, and alongside all relevant members of our extensive multidisciplinary team (MDT), including Discharge Coordinators, Nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Social Workers, Medical colleagues and specialist external agencies. This is a great opportunity to work and develop as an individual and as part of a MDT.
