It houses several cross-disciplinary facilities incorporating multiple research groups including a molecular & cellular laboratory and cell culture facility.

About the role

The Cell and Molecular Biology Technician will provide core support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the multi-user Cell and Molecular Biology (C&MB) Labs. The post holder will ensure that laboratory equipment is maintained in good working order, provide safety training and inductions to lab users and assist with facilities management of the lab, managing buildings issues and planning around crisis management. They will also undertake the role of Deputy Departmental Safety Officer (DSO).

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.

About you

This is a permanent full time role for an enthusiastic and proactive laboratory technician with experience of working in a biological science research laboratory in higher education or similar environment. You will have a demonstrable ability to communicate well and work both within a team and under your own initiative. You will have experience of providing technical support for research activities implementing e health and safety policies within a lab environment and some experience of common biomedical techniques. You will have a commitment to providing a responsive and helpful service and a desire to develop in the role.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with team of clinical scientist and researcher and contribute towards supporting the lab members in the common journey.
