EXPERIENCED HOUSEKEEPER REQUIRED FOR UHNW RESIDENCE IN LONDON
Location: Kensington, London
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £45,000-£50,000 per annum, negotiable
Status: Live-out
A wonderful opportunity has become available for an experienced Housekeeper to work for an
international ultra-high-net-worth family in their secondary residence in Central London. The family
are in residence about 75% of the year and require a professional Housekeeper to work in the property
throughout the year.
Reporting to the House Manager and working alongside another housekeeper, you will ensure that
the highest level of cleanliness across the property is maintained year-round. Jointly responsible for
all hands-on cleaning, laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management, you will also assist with ad-hoc
duties and errand running from time to time. As part of the role, you will also be required to serve at
the table, so someone confident in a guest-facing role and well-presented is required for this role.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and excellent
knowledge of how to care for furniture and surfaces with high-end finishes. You will also need to have
an exceptional eye for detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, so high energy levels
and a positive can-do attitude are essential requirements.
Working 40 hours per week on a rota system, you will work collaboratively with other staff members
to ensure the smooth running of the household and will be required to work two weekends out of the
month. There are different shift patterns in the house and you will generally start work at 1pm, but
might sometimes start at 10am, depending on the family’s schedule.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Cleaning including dusting, hoovering, mopping, changing beds, cleaning bathrooms
- Preparing the house for the principals’ arrival, setting up bedrooms, bathrooms etc.
- All laundry and wardrobe management, including linens, caring for fine fabrics, ironing
- Packing and unpacking for the principals and their guests
- Caring for artworks, silver, antiques etc.
- Assisting the House Manager with table service
- Managing stocks of household items
- Liaising with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the household
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Prior Housekeeper experience in a private household
- Fluency in English both spoken and written
- Hardworking and dedicated
- Flexibility with hours and duties
- Able to work independently with little supervision
- DBS checked or willingness to have a DBS check done
- Excellent checkable references
