Within our part of the Environment Agency we oversee the full range of compliance activities under a number of energy efficiency/emissions reduction regulations and so we offer a great place to develop a variety of skills. We are taking on new duties to support the UK’s drive to reach net zero, and this new role will play a significant part in the implementation of this.
This role will involve:
- Confirming which organisations need to be regulated by us and registering them.
- Assessing compliance against of energy efficiency/emissions reduction regulations
- Providing advice and guidance to those we regulate
- Reviewing and collating data submissions
- Interpreting new guidance and legislation.
- Reporting our progress and outcomes to internal and external partners
- Taking enforcement action to bring operators/organisations back into compliance
- Working with external partners in government and private business to review and improve regulation.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
