We’re hiring a Senior Quality assurance tester
to join our team to deliver projects for our clients across a broad range of industries, with a particular focus on delivering Business Applications.

Key Responsibilities
Fundamentally, this job involves taking overall responsibility for developing and executing software quality assurance plans for our software projects, and assure the quality of software delivered to our customers. To analyse requirements and design documentation, and ensure the applications or changes being delivered are fit for purpose. This is a role that sits within our senior consultant team, where you will lead other QAs, and guide our customers in delivering quality test activities, maintaining both the QA practice and ISTQB standards.

This role might suit you if you are an experienced QA tester looking for a new challenge or are a contractor who is considering moving into a stable, high profile permanent role in a successful, accomplished yet growing team.
Our Team consists of QA testers of all skill levels, who have a wide range of experience across industries. All of our QAs benefit from being ISQB certified , becoming accredited and leveraging ISTQB best practices to help guide our standards. As a QA tester at Codec, you’ll join the team, and most importantly - be made feel part of the team, from day one. As a Senior QA tester you will work closely with Codecs QA mgmt. team to define and implement process and standards across the QA practice.
In broad terms you will be responsible for
- Taking ownership of test projects, 'managing' them to successful completion · Defining and documenting the approach to testing for Projects, in accordance with internal standards and Test Policies · Produce detailed estimates for testing projects · Write test cases from requirements documentation / user stories and execute tests · Defining data and environment requirements · Liaise with software development team to ensure that all requirements are thoroughly tested and adequate coverage achieved. · Analyse failing tests and defects and clearly report with evidence via JIRA/TFS. · Managing the defect lifecycle for Projects · Interact with developers, architects & SMEs to discuss features & resolve defects. · Observe bug resolution efforts and escalate identified risks as and when they occur. · Reviewing and critiquing processes and standards to deliver innovative improvements to testing · Act as a test subject matter expert, sharing knowledge and experience with other members of the team · Embracing and actively demonstrating/promoting company values and initiatives in a leading role · Develop and encourage teamwork across multiple functions · Manage all in scope aspects of the test function on behalf of Codec when deployed to client engagements · Build and maintain relationships with Codecs clients when deployed to a project in a testing capacity · Be an active mentor to junior members of the QA team and wider BA/QA community in Codec · Work across multiple technologies as dictated by the client need · Work with team leads to identify and resolve inefficiencies in the QA process · Contribute to the BA/QA and change engagement initiative by promoting the practice internally · Create QA content for pre-sales engagements · Leverage Codec tools such as ‘stress stimulus’ to provide innovative outputs to Codec clients Ideally, you’ll have worked within a consultancy, or people services organisation, delivering business applications projects and understand the needs of these organisations. You’ll have worked under pressure and to tight deadlines in the past, we wont tell you that there wont be pressure and deadlines, but with us, you are supported by a community of QAs and tech consultants that are there to help. You’ll know how to prepare for test cycles, how to triage issues, manage competing deadlines, influence stake holders and get the answers you need to successfully deliver a project,

We don’t expect you to know everything about the specific technologies we are delivering, now or after you decide to work here, but it would help if you know how to use no-code / low code tools such as configurable CRM systems, Power Apps, Dynamics 365 or similar tooling. Our QA testers are dynamic and can adapt to changing customer requirements fast, its not one size fits all when it comes to outputs here, so we want someone who understands that every project and every client is different.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for someone with demonstrable Senior QA tester experience. You might have delivered Microsoft Business Applications projects in the past. You might not. We care about what you can do and how you do it, not about how you got here. You will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication skills and be results focused. You’ll understand different approaches when testing in both waterfall and agile projects. You are the type of person who genuinely wants your customers to feel they are getting value.

PAY
As an experienced QA tester, we expect to pay you what you feel you are worth and how we feel you can help our team. We assess seniority relative to the existing team at Codec during the interviewing process and will offer you a competitive salary and benefits package relative to our existing team.
