Job Description
This position is to cover a period of 12 months with a possibility of permanency. The position is for an acute 17 bedded specialist surgical ward. covering the following areas: ENT, Facial Maxilla surgery, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology and Upper GI and Colorectal surgery.
The ward is fast paced and acute but will present you with a great opportunity to learn a vast remit of clinical skills including specialist skills with tracheostomy and laryngectomy care.
We are a small team but function excellently, meeting all expected performance targets in all areas of care, quality and improvement.

- Manage team of up to 9 patients in a team. 17 bedded ward split into 2 teams. You will work 3 RN's and 2 HCA's for day duty and 2 RN's and 2 HCA's for night duties.
- Administer medications.
- Escalate patient care.
- Be responsible for ones own learning and development.
- Supervise and manage learners.
- Work as as part of an Multi disciplinary team.
- Partake in Board rounds.
- Advocate for your patients and be involved in best interest decisions.
- Supporting the wider family members through clear communication.
Warrington Ward is a fast-paced acute surgical ward caring for multiple specialties: ENT, Gynaecology, Head and Neck Cancer, Facial Maxilla surgery and General Surgery.
Currently we have 17 beds which are used to full capacity. This ward will give HCAs a great opportunity to learn multiple new clinical skills within an environment of a supportive and dynamic team.
