Graduate Associate HR Business Partner Development Programme 2023

We are looking for a Graduate Associate Human Resources Business Partner to join our 2023 development programme and help us shape the future within our Building Services team.


The Opportunity:

You will be part of the Human Resources Operations team who provide support and advice to our colleagues within our Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) contracts. These teams help to design, install and maintain MEP for a range of buildings, from film studios and schools to laboratories and railway stations.

This generalist role will see you create a true partnership with our project teams and lead on our people plan. You will guide people leaders to manage and lead their teams effectively, support resourcing and talent succession plans, engagement plans, and work closely to support Employee Relations issues.

Our two-year graduate programme will help you build on your degree and establish a career where you’ll have the freedom to learn, achieve your ambitions, and leave your mark on the communities in which we work.

The programme provides a pathway to develop a complete skill set developing both technical and interpersonal skills. This includes courses, on-the-job learning, working in teams to solve business challenges, and building a strong professional network, all while improving the business.

Location: You will be based at Skanska’s modern London office in Moorgate.


What you will do:


  • Manage resource forecasting with a focus on onboarding
  • Support the HR Director to execute all annual events effectively to promote performance related remuneration
  • Effectively champion the engagement survey and outputs to leverage engagement levels across the projects
  • Contribute towards Learning & Development plans where relevant
  • Drive talent review process for functional areas and work with teams to ensure succession plan in place for key roles
  • Support the HR Director to identify areas of skill shortages and any demographic trends of concern
  • Ensure that the projects and teams are utilising relevant corporate initiatives to build a diverse and inclusive talent pipeline
  • Manage employee relations matters effectively to promote a high-performance culture


Who you are:

  • Able to work as part of a team; demonstrates the ability to network effectively up, down and across the business

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills, as well as comfortable to deliver presentations
