Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic scientist to join a growing team providing expertise and support to the Healthcare industry, including world-leading Pharmaceutical, Consumer Healthcare, and Medical Device companies. The role is fast paced and calls for a diverse skillset as follows:

Accountabilities:

  • Support the growth of Lucideon’s Formulated Products Group by providing technical expertise in a relevant area of the pharmaceutical sciences
  • Be responsible for effective project management and delivery of contract R&D projects, in roles as both project leader and contributor
  • Provide technical and subject matter expertise to commercial colleagues in the scoping, definition and scheduling of work programmes
  • Coaching and mentoring of less senior technical colleagues in your area(s) of technical expertise
  • Define and deliver internal R&D projects which contribute to Lucideon’s IP portfolio development and growth plans
  • Have full awareness and take leadership on all relevant areas of EHS responsibilities related to your work

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level within chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, materials science, chemical engineering or similar
  • Experience in effective delivery of commercial R&D programmes (through time in industry or through PhD research)

Experience:

  • An understanding of the global healthcare industry
  • Experience of product development within the pharmaceutical or over-the-counter industries
  • Creative problem solving in the area of formulation science
  • A thorough understanding, or more preferably, hands-on experience of appropriate analytical methods to support product development (e.g. solid state characterization, chromatography techniques, pharmacopoeial methods)

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong practical laboratory skills
  • In-depth knowledge of an area of the chemical sciences
  • Good project management skills with a proven record of timeline and stakeholder management
  • Excellent scientific communication skills – including the ability to write engaging and succinct project reports and communicate key results, interpretations and conclusions through verbal presentation
  • An ability to effectively translate knowledge and experience to new areas of technical development or market sectors
  • High levels of intrinsic curiosity
  • An ability to manage constant variation in workload and changing balance of activities
